Information on the latest firmware update files (as of Feb 2014) after the jump.

4500 Terminal Version 3.0

For part numbers 8602800-500 through -999

* Latest firmware update 03.00.14.017.kru (Dec 2013)
Supported firmware v2.2.5.14 – v3.x

# 8602800-500 thru -999 was released in January 2008.

When upgraded to firmware v3, these are the only 4500s which can support device-initiated communications in Workforce.

4500 Terminal Version 2.3

For part numbers 8602004-xxx and 8602800-001 through -499

* Latest firmware update 02.03.14.003.kru (Jan 2014)

Supported firmware 8602004-xxx: v2.0.1.6 – v2.3.x
Supported firmware 8602800-001 through -499: v2.2.0.257 – v2.3.x

# 8602004-xxx was released in July 2004. This model has new memory configuration and a new Ethernet controller.
# 8602800-001 thru -499 was released in August 2006. RoHS compatible.
– RoHS (pronounced ROW-hass) stands for Restriction of Hazardous Substances, a new regulation from the European Union affecting manufacturers of electronic equipment effective July 1, 2006. This directive requires electronic equipment free of lead, cadmium, mercury, and several other hazardous substances.

+ When upgrading clock firmware from version 2.1 to 2.3, an intermediate step must be taken to upgrade to 2.2 firmware first. Then, put on 2.3.

4500 Terminal Version 2.2

For part number 8602000-xxx

* Latest firmware update 02.02.05.014.krl (Oct 2007)

Supported firmware v1.0.x – v2.2.x

# 8602000-xxx is the original 4500 model, released in Sept. 2001.
SmartView transactions are not supported unless a memory upgrade kit was purchased. This memory upgrade kit is no longer for sale.

+ When upgrading clock firmware from a version lower than 1.3, an intermediate step must be taken to upgrade to 1.3 firmware first. Then, put on 2.x. After upgrading from firmware version 1.3 to 2.x, the Telnet-FTP setting on the Comm Settings screen is set to “No” regardless of what the setting was before the upgrade.
